Stacking the Shelves [17]

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where we get to gab on about the books we've won, bought, or otherwise received in the past week. This is another all-digital review, since I'm not going to put the books I needed for college on here. (But if you're interested, Dracula and Hamlet are among them!)

Netgalley:

Desire (The Dining Club #1) by Marina Anderson (Review here.)
The Annihilation of Foreverland by Tony Bertauski
The Scarpetta Cookbook by Scott Conant
Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller
Waiting to Catch Fire Promo by Kat Falls / Jeff Hirsch / Suzanne Weyn

What about you?

  39. I'm not a contemporary fan, most of the times, but I've heard people talking about Where the Stars Still Shine and I've had people telling me I should read it. I've been contemplating it every time I log in to netgalley. I may eventually give in...

    1. I don't recommend reading them piece by piece. Desire was maybe 30 or so pages of absolutely nothing happening. It just introduced the concept. I think it has a chance to be good while read in one chunk, like a proper novel, but piece by piece, I think it's frustrating. My review, if interested:
